It's not often that I leave reviews, but the tour my wife and I took with Thomas and Phillip from Retro Tour Normandy was awesome and a once in a lifetime experience. I've been wanting to go back to Normandy where I could actually spend time in the area and visit the WWII beaches for quite some time now. Outside that the tour is on motorcycles with sidecars, it was a good mix of the local area and the historic WWII sites. Thomas and Phillip(who was wearing authentic U.S. military uniform that the troops wore on D-Day) were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and easy to talk too, both who knew the area like the back of their hand. We got a lot of waves, claps, and thumbs up from people while riding in the motorcycles and sidecars which allowed you to truly take in the beautiful countryside on roads that giant tour buses and vans could not access like a motorbike could. Truly a once in a lifetime experience and hope to have the opportunity to visit the area again!Amazing!
Phillipe was an fantastic guide, his knowledge was first class and he brought to life the events of 80 years ago. The motorcycle side car combination is brilliant, you are so much more in tune with your surroundings and the experience. And, everyone else’s reaction is brilliant. Whether you know the area and history or not, this is something you have to do. And Chapeau to 2e Regt de Chasseurs.
Super fun and unique experience! What an awesome way to see the Normandy beaches. I'd highly recommend this activity. We are a family of four with two kids (12/14) and it was enjoyed by all of us. Tomas and Philip were great tour guides, very knowledgeable and my kids thought the side car was so cool. We felt safe the entire time, and it was a different way to tour which was welcomed by my family. This is worth every penny!
